Walking as an Exercise

Take some time out from your day for yourself!  Walking is a perfect gentle exercise that can help you achieve wellness.  It's safe and simple and EASY!  What are the benefits of walking?

The benefits are burning calories and helping to manage your weight.  Regular walking whether in and around a mall, on the beach or boardwalk or just wallking around the block can reduce your stress and burn calories.

Most important is to stay motivated and develop a schedule so you stick to it.  Write down the dates you walk Make it a habit.  Make it fun, invite a friend to walk with you or use a treadmill but make a scheduled time to walk.

If you don't stick to the walking don't sabotage yourself, get back to walking and write it down again.

Things to do

1. Think postive!

2. Start slow.  Even 5 minutes is better than nothing.

3. Get a pedometer.  Walk 10000 steps per day

4. Put it on your phone and set a timer.

5. It takes the first few months to get on a schedule.  In cold weather, go to the mall and walk but don't stop.  If you're working and say, I get home too late - walk up and down your stairs at home.  Walk up and down the stairs at work.  Walk around the block at lunch.  Mindfully think about the change you can make. and

WALK, WALK, WALK....
